Case Study: Beauty Client

This is a case study of a journey with one of our beauty clients, and how we helped them move from a yearly turnover of £60,000 to a yearly turnover of £1,500,000 in just under two years.

Due to our policy of non-disclosure, we will be calling this client X,Y & B.

X,Y & B’s Story

Our journey with X,Y & B started in February 2020 when the world had just been learned of a virus that was going to change everything. X,Y & B, had been running for around 5 years, in which time they had made great tracks into the beauty industry. Gaining extremely loyal followers due to the amazing product they had created, which had truly marvellous results. The only problem was; they had an amazing product, but were forced to use expensive off-the-shelf packaging. This meant they were relying on the extremely labour-intensive task of labelling each and every jar. To end up with a jar that looked like the type of jars everybody else uses.

This continued until a friend told them about an amazing company in the UK, that offers a service procuring goods from around the world. Little did they know how their lives were about to change. All they had to do was schedule a call with one of the team, where we discussed their biggest problem; high priced, wasteful, and common packaging. A brief was given, and after this initial consultation, the cogs started turning in the far east! There was a long back and forth of samples and slight tweaks to samples, but finally X,Y & B had packaging they could be proud of. By this time the pandemic was raging over the world and the economy was in uncertainty. Some would have been nervous of a rebranding at such a time, but X,Y & B knew their luxury product deserved the luxury bespoke packaging that they dreamed of. Placing their first nerve-racking order they launched!

X,Y & B Need Warehouse Space

Within a few months they had made waves and all their loyal followers, as well as a heap of new ones, all loved the jars their creams came in. There was now only one problem with the influx of sales; when the second order arrived, they had run out of space in their store room on site. Although, that was no issue for us at WorldTide, our warehouse that offers pick, pack and dispatch had loads of room for the overflow. We collected the same day and had the goods stored safely in our WKWA approved warehouse in the south of England.

Our Constant Desire to Improve Our Clients Products

Another few successful months went by, when X,Y & B called our cheery staff and set us the challenge to eliminate all plastic from their creams jars. However we had to ensure the jars were still airtight for quality assurance of their fantastic products. The WorldTide team welcomed the challenge and set about the design of such a product. With the fantastic efforts from our amazing inhouse designer coupled with the solid relationship we had built with the factory; we succeeded in the task. Now X,Y & B are able to have confidence that their jars are as sustainable as they possibly can be.

You Also Procure Raw Ingredients?!

Income the next problem to solve. X,Y & B, use a Shea Butter as the base ingredient for most of their creams. This is a raw material found in Northern Africa, it can be a hard material to get a constant reliable source for. Unfortunately for X,Y & B, the supplier of their Shea Butter was inconsistent. So after having such a success with WorldTide for their packaging, they decided to have a chat about our potential to source raw ingredients. Luckily for X,Y & B, we were already situated in Africa, with a very close contact in Ghana, where Shea Butter is produced.  A few quick weeks later and they had a sample of Shea Butter arrive to their door. Due to the diligence, professionalism, and quality of goods; X,Y & B, also asked us to supply other raw materials which they order in large quantities.

What WorldTide do for X,Y & B Today

Due to our service being honest, prompt, and great value for money we now look after all of X,Y & B’s procurement, stock management and storage needs. What does this look like? We handle day to day movements between our warehouse and their on-site stock room, ensuring they never run out of stock. Then once every 3 months the director of X,Y & B, receives a reorder list of goods that need to be manufactured, this list is approved and sent to manufacture. When the goods are ready we have our site team in the country of manufacture inspect the goods for any defects. Upon positive inspection, we oversee the shipping of the goods, including all customs clearance and documentation. Until the goods safely arrive in the warehouse. All of this we do with a positive, friendly and professional attitude that our clients grow extremely fond of.
